Sixties Paper
I am planning on writing my historical fiction paper on the soldiers' lives in Vietnam and how it affected them when they returned home. I wanted to do this because my uncle's life was completely altered when he came home from the war, and I want to get a better understanding of what it was like for him and how it changed his life.

In Country
In Country by Bobbie Ann Mason had to be one of the worst novels I have ever read. The plot was all over the place, and it was confusing because there were times when she didn't mention Sam moving to a different location, which made it difficult to follow the plot. The ending really didn't do anything for me either. I was hoping for something a little bit more dramatic. Maybe the sequel Out Country will be better than the first. :)

Technology
I agree with Chiat and believe that the Interet does help us determine our "personal truth" because there are so many sources with different view points, and it allows you decide which side of the issue you want to be on. By watching the same news channel for your information, you begin to think like they do because that is the only side of the story that you here and are not really thiking for yourself. Technology will be "our savior" because it allows us to get information fast and form our own opinions after thinking about both sides of the issue.

Good Writing
I sometimes don't trust the opinions of what other students write on my paper. One day when we were writing a research paper, a student revised it, and I did not agree with some of the comments they wrote on my paper, so when I turned it in to the teacher, I didn't change anything. After she revised it and gave it back to me, she had written a lot of the same comments the student had made before, and I felt like an idiot for not changing anything. This made me realize that I need to look at what I write more perceptively and keep an open mind.
